Twelve months on from nearly securing a seat to drive with Alfa Romeo, IndyCar star Colton Herta is once again close to joining the Formula 1 grid, this time with AlphaTauri.
But, Herta doesn’t have enough super licence points to be signed by an F1 team leading to a disagreement between teams about whether he should be given an exemption by the FIA.
In the latest episode of the Winging It F1 Podcast, Nigel Chiu, Adam Dickinson and Freddie Coates debate whether the super licence rules need changing and is Herta good enough for F1. They also preview the last race of the triple-header, the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
