Singapore GP Weather: Latest forecast for F1 race at Marina Bay

Max Verstappen will look to continue his winning ways at the 2023 Singapore GP

-

While Friday should be a dry day for drivers and teams, all signs point to rain returning at the 2023 Singapore GP.

Formula 1 heads to the Marina Bay circuit for round 15 with Max Verstappen holding a commanding 146-point lead over Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez.

Verstappen has never won in Singapore, and the weather this weekend could prove tricky for the Dutchman as he looks to end that streak.

After a dry weekend at Monza, expect a mixed bag of weather for Saturday qualifying and Sunday’s race. That will likely be music to the ears of Perez, who won last year’s wet race.

Friday is expected to be a dry day at the track. While there is a chance of rain, early forecasts have it at just a 20% chance.

The hottest temperature of the day is expected to be 33 Celsius, with a low of 16.

As for the action on the track, drivers can expect temperatures of 32 Celsius for FP1 and 29 Celsius for FP2.

Saturday, Practice 3 and Qualifying

The threat of rain increases from there, with a 40% chance of showers hitting the Marina Bay circuit on Saturday.

Drivers can expect a more unsettled day than Saturday, with partly cloudy skies and even a chance of thundery showers.

Temperatures are expected to hit a high of 32 Celsius and a low of 26 Celsius. Drivers can expect 30 Celsius for FP3 and a slightly cooler 29 Celsius for qualifying.

Sunday, Race

More showers are expected to hit the region for Sunday’s race, with the chance of precipitation currently standing at 60%.

However, those showers are expected in the afternoon, and given the race doesn’t start until the evening, the track shouldn’t be satured with water.

The daytime high is expected to be 32 Celsius, followed by a low of 26 Celsius.

Temperatures are expected to settle at around 30 Celsius once the lights turn green.
