The latest episode of The Total Motorsport F1 Show sees host Joe Krishnan joined by Formula 1 journalists Ewan Gale and Brandon Sutton to review a mute 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, discussing Max Verstappen’s sensational victory over McLaren.
The defending world champion produced a ridiculous Lap 1 overtake on Oscar Piastri to seize the lead from the championship leader, and from there he simply checked out and was put under practically zero pressure for the remainder.
His performance saw him close the gap in the standings to 22 points as he aims to become just the fourth five-time world champion in the history of the sport, but are Red Bull truly back in the fight or was the win at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari little more than a mirage?
Ferrari fight back in Imola
Another team that stole the headlines for both good and bad reasons in Imola were Ferrari. After the Scuderia slumped to a double-Q2 exit on Saturday, they produced an excellent effort to fight back on Sunday and delight the tifosi at Imola.
Lewis Hamilton finished fourth, just 1.5 seconds behind Piastri at the line, from 12th whilst Charles Leclerc proved feisty with his overtakes as he scythed his way through the pack from 11th to finish fifth.
Are the Italians finally figuring out their SF-25 ahead of the technical directive regarding flexing of the front wings, can they get themselves back into the title hunt after a miserable start?
