Monaco GP 2025 – Full F1 Schedule and Session Start Times

-

The Formula 1 calendar brings the sport back to its most iconic and technically demanding venue Monte Carlo for the 2025 Monaco GP, the crown jewel in the F1 season, run from May 23 to May 25: Here is the schedule and all of the session start times.

With its narrow streets, unforgiving barriers, and emphasis on qualifying, the event is a unique challenge for drivers and teams alike and pays dividends to who can take the most risks with the barriers and still get away with it.

Could one person gunning for pole position be Max Verstappen? He arrives in Monaco in resurgent form after a commanding victory at the Emilia Romagna GP in which the reigning world champion reclaimed momentum in the title race with a composed performance to secure his second win of the season.

That victory has reignited his championship bid, narrowing the gap to the leader, Oscar Piastri, to just 22 points as the Red Bull driver chases a fifth world title; a feat rarely accomplished in the sport.

But the Monaco GP presents another critical test for Red Bull’s RB21 car, which has been inconsistent across different track profiles, making it uncertain how the car will respond to the unique low-speed demands of the Circuit de Monaco.

McLaren, by contrast, has shown strong performance everywhere. Both Lando Norris and Piastri have emerged as genuine contenders and the Australian has taken three pole positions this season as well as four victories.

Notably, he outqualified Norris in Monaco in 2024 by over a tenth of a second, an advantage that was worth two positions, proving crucial on a track where overtaking is notoriously difficult.

The weekend will culminate with 78 laps of the 3.337km (2.074-mile) Circuit de Monaco on Sunday, May 25 and will even see a mandatory two-stop race to try to spice things up strategically.

Charles Leclerc, representing his home race, will be another driver to watch. The Ferrari driver claimed victory in Monte Carlo in 2024 and will be aiming to repeat that performance to lift the Scuderia after a lackluster start to the season.

Whilst George Russell will look to claim his first pole position in Monaco, armed with a Mercedes package that has been competitive against the McLarens in qualifying. Can either pull off a shock result?
