Lky Sunz respond to Horner, Wolff concerns on 11th F1 team

The Asian team are bidding to become the 11th team on the F1 grid

Lky Sunz have responded to Christian Horner and Toto Wolff’s claims about whether an 11th team would add value to Formula 1.

Since Andretti-Cadillac announced plans to enter F1 in May 2022, Stefano Domenicali and the current ten teams had expressed their concerns about what an 11th team could bring to the sport.

Before Sunday’s Miami GP, Wolff and Horner questioned the need for a new team, with Horner stating teams voting for a dilation in prize money would be ‘like turkey’s voting for Christmas.’

“The teams are right to question every element of the process, but people once doubted whether races could happen in Miami or Las Vegas,” a Lky Sunz spokesperson responding to Horner and Wolff’s comments told Total

Formula 1 has this beautiful ability of solving problems to charge the sport forward. It’s clear that fans see new teams as a positive.

“If, for example, those teams are adding to the competitiveness and hyping up new communities across Asia, then Formula 1 will no doubt find answers because that’s a serious benefit for every stakeholder in the sport.”

Lky Sunz hoping to give back to the fans

With May 15th being the FIA’s deadline for new entries to send all the relevant paperwork needed to enter F1, Lky Sunz are hopeful they will be able to enter the sport and represent South-East Asia.

The team, which would be temporarily based in Europe for its formative years and have a partnership with a racing car company, faces stiff competition from rival candidates Andretti and Hitech.

If successful, Lky Sunz hopes to bring youth culture and underrepresented communities into F1 whilst combining youth culture off-track with on-track competitiveness.

Lky Sunz have confirmed to Total they wish to enter the sport by 2026 when new regulations are in place.
