Welcome to this Total Motorsport live blog from the F1 2023 Spanish GP, as the current season of Formula 1 heads to the Catalonia. This weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix marks the eighth round of the 2023 Formula 1 championship and Max Verstappen of Red Bull is on pole position for the race in Montmelo.

Where can I watch the 2023 Spanish GP?

Here on Total-Motorsport.com, we will have live blogs for all sessions from the Spanish GP, from FP1, FP2, FP3, Qualifying, and the Grand Prix on Sunday.

For viewers in the UK, every session of the 2023 Spanish GP will be shown live on Sky Sports F1, with highlights on Channel 4.

Meanwhile, if you are in the USA, every session will be shown across ESPN

F1 fans in Australia will be able to catch all the action on Fox Sports, while those in Canada can watch on TSN.

What is the 2023 Spanish GP starting grid?

Max Verstappen in the Red Bull was a class apart as he qualified first on the F1 starting grid for the 2023 Spanish GP in Barcelona, and will be joined on the front row by Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz, who will be backed by his home crowd.

Surprisingly, Lando Norris put his McLaren third on the grid in Barcelona, and will start the race alongside Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes after Pierre Gasly was given a grid penalty.

The Alpine driver was penalised for blocking Sainz and Verstappen in qualifying, and was this handed two three-place grid drops, meaning he starts 10th.

With changeable conditions in Barcelona on Saturday, there were a number of big name casualties in qualifying. The biggest of those was Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari who could only qualify in 19th place after having to deal with an issue on the left side of his car.
