Canadian GP Weather: Latest Forecast for F1 race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve

Sun, speed, and a chance of showers: Forecast for the 2023 F1 Canadian Grand Prix.

    -

With just a couple of days to go to the much-awaited 2023 F1 Canadian Grand Prix, fans are gearing up for the return of racing after a two-week break from the last race in Spain.

The Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada, well-known for its high-speed straights and tight corners, often adds an unpredictable twist to the races, especially when weather gets involved.

So, what does the weather hold for the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix between June 16 and June 18?

    Friday, June 16: Practice 1 & 2

Teams can anticipate clear skies for most of the day, with temperatures hovering around a comfortable 25°C.

However, as the day progresses, there’s a minor chance of late afternoon showers, which could impact the Free Practice 2. If it does rain, teams will have a golden opportunity to evaluate their wet weather setups, which could be invaluable knowledge come race day.

    Saturday, June 17: Practice 3 & Qualifying

The weather forecast for Montreal shows a mixed bag for Saturday.

It’s predicted to be a partly sunny day with temperatures reaching a high of 28°C. The risk of rain is a low 10%, which means teams will most likely have a dry qualifying session. However, the risk, albeit low, means teams will have to be prepared for all possibilities.

    Sunday, June 18: Race Day

Current forecasts show a partly sunny day with a high temperature of 27°C. However, Montreal’s weather is known to be quite unpredictable, and there is a 25% chance of late afternoon showers. If this materializes, it could add a thrilling twist to the final stages of the Grand Prix, where tire strategy will be of paramount importance.

As it stands, it appears that we might have a largely dry Canadian Grand Prix weekend, with a slight chance of rain during the late hours of the practice sessions and potentially towards the end of the race.

Keep an eye out for updates, and get ready for what promises to be an exciting race weekend at the 2023 F1 Canadian Grand Prix.
