British Grand Prix anticipation reached new heights before a wheel even turned at Silverstone when Lando Norris arrived at the track in a rare McLaren P1 hypercar.
As the crowds looked on, Norris stepped out of the exclusive black-on-black hypercar, putting his passion for performance cars on full display ahead of a weekend that could define his season. With the buzz already building for his home race, Norris’s entrance set a tone of confidence and individuality that has become his trademark.
The McLaren P1, which forms the centrepiece of Norris’ personal collection, is revered in the motoring world as one of the most advanced road cars of the modern era.
Only 375 units were produced, and Norris’s version features a completely blacked-out design that drew extra attention in the Silverstone paddock. Equipped with a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 hybrid powertrain, the car delivers acceleration and performance once only found on the racetrack.
It can reach 200 kilometres per hour in under seven seconds, thanks to technology directly inspired by McLaren’s Formula 1 expertise.
This is just one of several high-performance cars Norris owns, with his collection also boasting a McLaren 765LT, Lamborghini Miura, Ferrari F40, Porsche Carrera GT, and Porsche 911 GT3.

His off-track enthusiasm for motoring has become well known to fans, further cementing his place as a driver who lives and breathes all things automotive.
Momentum is on Norris’ side heading into his home Grand Prix, after his recent victory in Austria vaulted him to second in the drivers’ standings, just 15 points shy of his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri.
While his arrival in the P1 captured imaginations, Norris’ attention quickly turned to the challenge ahead and the desire to achieve something that has always seemed just out of reach.

Speaking at Silverstone, Norris described the unique energy surrounding the British GP and what a win on home soil would represent.
“I mean, I’m very excited for everything,” Norris said. “Every day is one to look forward to. Of course, the driving on track is still the best bit, but I’ve already done some stuff this morning. We did Trafalgar Square yesterday, which was pretty special.
“I went over to the stands earlier this morning. So, plenty of things for me to look forward to. All good things, all exciting things, more like a positive distraction more than anything else.
“So, it’s good. And, of course, coming off Austria is a nice feeling too. So, ready to get going.”
Why Silverstone means more to Norris than Monaco
While many drivers place Monaco at the top of their career wish lists, Norris has always looked to Silverstone as his dream venue for a race victory.
“Yeah. I mean, I think it’s tough to ever put something above Monaco, but I said it before Monaco that if I could win anything, if I could swap all race wins for one, it would be for a Silverstone win,” Norris added. “So, it’s a plan.
“Obviously, a lot of work, a lot of things to do before then, but Monaco is special. I think they’ll be very different, for different reasons. Monaco is just the history, what it means to everyone and the people that have won there.

“Silverstone is because it’s my home race, and the British fans and the Lando fans, all those guys. So, different reasons, but it’ll be the one that probably puts the biggest smile on my face, bigger than Monaco, and it’s the one that since I was a kid and since I first started watching Formula 1 that I’ve wanted to win the most.”
With the stage set and the home crowd firmly behind him, Norris’ focus is clear. His headline-making arrival has only amplified expectations that this could finally be the year he delivers a British Grand Prix win.
