Social media users have been circulating images of Jos Verstappen’s reaction to Sergio Perez’s victory celebration following his win at the Saudi Arabian GP.
The Mexican secured his fifth victory in F1 with a consummate display in Jeddah, fending off the challenge of Verstappen and the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso to take the win.
In the aftermath of the victory, many fans began commenting on the senior Verstappen’s seemingly less-than-enthusiastic response to Perez’s win.
Perez’s win was celebrated by his team, family, and fans, who gathered around him after the race to congratulate the talented driver, but there was one member of the Red Bull camp who appeared less impressed.
Red Bull and Verstappen have not issued any statements or explanations regarding his reaction to Perez’s victory, but that has not stopped users from commenting on the reaction.
Unhappy Verstappen
Max Verstappen rallied from his early exit from qualifying to finish second in Saudi Arabia, but the reigning champion was less than satisfied with the result.
“It’s not only about the pace of the car, we need to make sure we are reliable without any issues,””Verstappen told the press.
“My first weekend was not very clean because of just the big balance shift from testing to the race weekend, some other things which were going on in the background.
“Now again, after three positive practice sessions, I have an issue in qualifying. Of course, I recovered the second, which is good.
“In general the whole feeling in the team, everyone is happy. But personally, I’m not happy because I’m not here to be second.”
Max is making F1 ugly, it’s time he was put in his place he is not above the job he is paid to do.
