Will Power couldn’t contain his anger at fellow IndyCar driver Romain Grosjean after the Frenchman blocked the Australian in practice, moving across the Team Penske driver in practice on Saturday.
After a crash in qualifying for Road America that brought out the red flag, Will Power was unable to advance to the fast 12 after going off track during the final hot laps, and will start 22nd on the grid, further angering Power.
“Grosjean is a piece of crap, if you saw what he did in practice, he deserves a punch in the face,” Power said to NBC Sports after Qualifying at Road America.
“Just pissed with what Dixon did this morning, just ruined our whole weekend, just a terrible move all up, disappointed with what happened.”
Practice incidents
Earlier in the day, Power was involved in a massive incident with Scott Dixon and another with Grosjean which irked the Australian.
First, Power was squeezed towards the grass by the Frenchman while the pair were travelling at 180mph and Power’s Penske had to take to the grass, then later in the practice session Dixon first let Grosjean past him before steering directly into Power wrecking the Penske car.
As you can imagine, Power was furious, and immediately made his feelings know to Dixon on the side of the track.
