Seven-time champion’s arrival turns heads as he debuts new Ferrari era and makes fashion statement before his home Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton arrived at Silverstone ahead of the 2025 British Grand Prix and was impossible to ignore, making his first home race appearance as a Ferrari driver, Hamilton stepped out in a bespoke Burberry ensemble that immediately captured the attention of fans, photographers, and the paddock.

His bold outfit and eye-catching accessories have only added to the sense of occasion surrounding his return to the British track in new colours.

Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, wore a custom Burberry trench vest and matching cargo trousers, both adorned with Swarovski crystals arranged in the shape of a Union Jack as he entered the paddock at Silverstone.

The sparkling pattern stood out against the deep purples, pinks, and reds of the fabric beneath, ensuring Hamilton was at the centre of the spotlight from the moment he entered the paddock.

Adding even more flair to the look, Hamilton’s wrist featured a Richard Mille 43-01 Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph Ferrari, a highly exclusive piece created in collaboration with the Italian team. The specific Carbon TPT model commands an astonishing price tag of $1,535,000, making it the most valuable item he wore on Thursday.

Hamilton completed the outfit with Ascari Suns sunglasses from Jacques Marie Mage, valued at around £785, and Swarovski earrings, opting for unique accessories rather than team-issued Ray-Bans.

A new era for Hamilton as fashion meets Ferrari at Silverstone

Hamilton’s high-fashion arrival is the latest example of his willingness to blend sport and style, and it’s not the first time this season he’s made headlines for breaking away from traditional team kit. With his home race marking a new chapter in his career at Ferrari, the British driver’s sartorial choices seem intended to underline both his individuality and his excitement for the weekend ahead.

Fans flocked to catch a glimpse of Hamilton’s entrance, and his appearance only heightened anticipation for what promises to be a significant British Grand Prix. As one of the sport’s most recognisable figures, Hamilton’s impact at Silverstone goes far beyond the track.

Yet, as ever, his focus remains firmly on performance. Speaking to the media, Hamilton was realistic about Ferrari’s prospects while acknowledging the competitive threat posed by McLaren:

“I think on a dry day McLaren will walk off into the distance, as you’ve seen in the past races, but you never know here what’s going to happen with the wind, with the rain,” Hamilton said. “The crowd makes a massive difference. I’m hoping they edge us a little bit closer.”

Chasing a breakthrough at home

Hamilton is aiming to end a podium drought, with his last victory coming just under a year ago at the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix, a win he inherited after George Russell’s disqualification. He admits that a strong result at Silverstone would be particularly meaningful, especially given the passionate support of British fans.

“I’m just hoping for a strong weekend. I’ve not had a podium yet, this would be a really special place in order to have that so I’m really counting on the amazing support we have here to hopefully make the difference,” Hamilton told the press.

With Silverstone buzzing and the spotlight firmly on Hamilton, the stage is set for a dramatic homecoming—on and off the track.
