Red Bull Racing Team History

Founded in 2005 when Red Bull purchased Jaguar’s team, Red Bull Racing quickly established itself by hiring top personnel like Adrian Newey. It transformed into a championship-winning contender within a few years.

With Sebastian Vettel secured in 2009, the team clinched four consecutive Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships from 2010 to 2013, marking a golden era.

In the hybrid era starting in 2014, Red Bull initially ceded dominance to Mercedes but then regained competitiveness. The team has earned eight Drivers’ Championships and six Constructors’ Championships to date.

Off-track, 2025 saw major changes: Christian Horner’s departure, the appointment of Laurent Mekies as CEO, and internal restructuring amid performance dips.

Looking ahead, Red Bull is preparing for sweeping 2026 regulation changes, including a new Ford hybrid power unit partnership, while recalibrating its leadership and technical strategy.
