About the Spanish Grand Prix

The Spanish Grand Prix has been a World Championship race since 1951, but it has never belonged to one circuit. Pedralbes, Jarama, Montjuic, Jerez and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya have all held the title. In 2026 the race moved again, this time to the Madring, a new 5.414 km semi-street circuit around the IFEMA exhibition site in Barajas, Madrid.

Barcelona did not leave the calendar. It now hosts a separate event, the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, in June. The Spanish Grand Prix name, title and history sit with Madrid. Kimi Antonelli won the first race at the Madring on 13 September 2026, after Lando Norris took pole. Max Verstappen finished second.
