F1 Testing 2024: Results from Day 3

Find out the Formula 1 results from te Day 3 of 2024 testing in Bahrain

-

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc concluded the final day of pre-season testing in Bahrain on a high note, posting the fastest lap time of 1:30.322s on the C5 Pirelli tires.

The day had an unusual start with a red flag triggered by Red Bull‘s Sergio Perez running across a drain area, leading to track repairs. Once the session resumed without a lunch break, teams focused on completing their testing programs.

Despite dropping temperatures, Leclerc held onto the top spot, followed closely by George Russell of Mercedes and Sauber’s Zhou Guanyu. Max Verstappen, taking over from Perez in the Red Bull, secured the fourth position, completing 66 laps.

RB’s Yuki Tsunoda claimed fifth, contributing to the team’s positive overall performance in testing. Williams’ Alex Albon had the unique advantage of having the car to himself for the day, accumulating the highest mileage with 121 laps and finishing in sixth place.

Oscar Piastri took seventh place, while McLaren faced challenges as they had to cut their morning session short due to a clutch issue with Lando Norris. Fernando Alonso, Carlos Sainz, and Perez rounded out the top 10.

With pre-season testing now concluded, teams will thoroughly analyze the gathered data in preparation for the upcoming 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix scheduled from February 29 to March 2.
