Max Verstappen delivered a statement performance at Imola the 2025 Formula 1 Emilia Romagna GP, securing his second win of the 2025 Formula 1 season to tighten things up in the F1 championship standings.
Verstappen produced a tactical and clinical showing, outpacing both McLarens and delivering Red Bull a symbolic victory in their 400th Formula 1 Grand Prix start. The Dutchman seized control from the opening lap, overtaking Oscar Piastri into Turn 2, and held off late pressure from Lando Norris after a safety car restart.
Having started second on the grid, Verstappen executed a daring move around the outside at the Tamburello chicane to jump polesitter Piastri. From there, he dictated the race through changing conditions and race interruptions, holding onto the lead through Virtual Safety Car and full Safety Car phases to take his second win of the campaign.
