F1 Standings after 2025 Belgian Grand Prix

McLaren’s Spa masterclass leaves rivals with work to do

-

The 2025 Belgian Grand Prix delivered another twist in a thrilling Formula 1 season, with Oscar Piastri sealing his sixth win of the year at Spa-Francorchamps and extending his lead in the F1 championship standings over Lando Norris.

In a race defined by rain, pit strategy, and razor-thin margins, the Piastri kept his composure through a delayed, wet-dry affair, finishing just ahead of his title rival and teammate.

Heavy rain just before the scheduled start time sent teams scrambling for umbrellas and weather data, forcing an 80-minute delay as the circuit became drenched. Once conditions allowed the race to start, behind the safety car on Lap 5, it was Piastri who seized the initiative.

Exiting La Source in close pursuit, the Australian made the crucial move through Eau Rouge and used the slipstream to breeze past Norris on the Kemmel Straight, claiming the lead before Les Combes. And from there kept himself ahead of his McLaren teammate.
