F1 Standings after 2024 Austrian Grand Prix

How do the 2024 F1 Driver and Constructor Championship Standings look after George Russell took victory at the Austrian GP

-

A dramatic end to the 2024 Austrian Grand Prix saw Max Verstappen and Lando Norris clash, giving George Russell an unlikely win at the Red Bull Ring after starting from third position, despite that the Red Bull driver still managed to finish in the points and extended his lead in the F1 driver standings after the Austrian GP.

Russell, running in third before the incident, capitalised on the situation to take the lead and hold it until the chequered flag, marking his second career win in Formula 1. Oscar Piastri provided some consolation for McLaren by finishing second, ahead of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz in third.

Lewis Hamilton finished fourth, followed by Verstappen in fifth, who managed to retain his position despite a 10-second penalty for the clash with Norris. Haas had a strong performance, with Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen finishing sixth and eighth, respectively, separated by Red Bull’s Sergio Perez in seventh.

Daniel Ricciardo finished ninth, earning points for Red Bull, while Pierre Gasly rounded out the top ten for Alpine. Charles Leclerc recovered from a first-lap incident to finish 11th after four pit stops, followed by Esteban Ocon in 12th, who had a close battle with teammate Gasly.
