F1 Spanish GP 2025 – Qualifying Results

Oscar Piastri led a McLaren one-two in Barcelona with Lando Norris alongside him on the front row

-

Oscar Piastri was quickest in Barcelona and put his McLaren top of the Spanish GP 2025 Qualifying results, just ahead of teammate Lando Norris, with Max Verstappen third fastest for Red Bull.

The Australian driver posted a superb 1:11.546, using a stellar middle sector to secure his fourth career pole and fourth of the season, continuing a dominant run for the papaya team.

The session was closely fought from the outset. On the first flying laps in Q3, Norris narrowly led his team-mate by just 0.017s, clocking a 1:11.819 to Piastri’s 1:11.836. But when it mattered most, Piastri strung together an exceptional final run, finding two tenths to relegate Norris to second on the grid.

Behind them, Max Verstappen and George Russell recorded identical lap times, but Verstappen’s earlier effort secured him third ahead of the Mercedes driver. Lewis Hamilton was fifth fastest, outperforming his younger team-mate Andrea Kimi Antonelli, as well as Charles Leclerc, who managed only a single Q3 attempt that left him seventh for Ferrari.
