A sensational end to the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix saw the Mercedes of George Russell fire into the barriers allowing Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz to claim victory from Lando Norris in the McLaren and end Red Bull’s winning streak.
Sainz led the race from pole position and with a virtual safety car coming out towards the end of the race, both Mercedes cars of Russell and Lewis Hamilton put on the new set of medium tyres they had saved and rocketed up through the field.
Then, on the final lap, Russell looking to pass second place Lando Norris ran into the barriers, relieving pressure from Sainz, who was on old hards, and the Ferrari driver took a brilliant win.
Max Verstappen, who started in 11th, was able to climb up through the field and finished fifth in his Red Bull.
