Red Bull's Sergio Perez overtook Charles Leclerc of Ferrari off the line to take victory at the 2022 Singapore GP

A rain delayed 2022 Singapore Grand Prix was eventually won by Sergio Perez in the Red Bull as he won the battle with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc at Marina Bay.

Following a torrential downpour just before the start, the FIA decided to delay the race by one hour. Damp humid conditions caused multiple Safety Car periods, and six DNFs.

Perez jumped Leclerc off the line, and the pair were in a class of their own in Singapore, racing off into the distance, with a brief battle for the lead in the closing stages which the Mexican won.

The full race distance of 61 laps was unable to be completed due to the conditions and length of lap, so the 2022 Singapore GP lasted two hours.
