Sergio Perez won the F1 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah

    -

Sergio Perez dominated the 2023 Saudi Arabian GP and took his first win of the F1 season, leading a Red Bull one-two as Max Verstappen scythed through the field after starting 15th.

The Dutchman had a mechanical issue in qualifying which dropped him down the grid, but it mattered not as Red Bull were head and shoulders above all the other teams.

Fernando Alonso, who was second on the grid, briefly took the lead of the race at the start, jumping past Perez at Turn 1, but it wasn’t long before the Mexican re-took first place.

Mercedes has a relatively strong race as George Russell led Lewis Hamilton to a fourth and fifth place finish. Then came the Ferrari pair of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc
