Red Bull have announced their cars will run with an alternative livery at the 2023 Miami Grand Prix.
At the launch of the RB19, the world champions said they planned on giving the car a makeover based on fan designs for the three races in America, and it appears they are set on honouring their word.
“Miami vibes. This year, we’ll also have a new livery,” the team posted to social media.
It won’t be the first time the team has arrived at a venue with a striking new design, although they are usually reserved for testing or filming days.
The most recent example was at the 2021 Turkish GP, when the Red Bulls ran with a special white livery. It was initially intended for the race in Japan before it was cancelled amid the pandemic.
Prior to that, the Milton Keyens-based outfit have unveiled numerous one-off designs at pre-season testing.
The Miami GP debuted on the Formula 1 calendar in 2022, with Max Verstappen racing to his third win of a dominant season.A number of drivers marked the occasion in 2022 with special helmet designs, while the event also attracted a host of A-list celebrities as the sport continues to target increasing its viewership in the US.
The Dutchman will undoubtedly start as the favourite to make it back-to-back victories given the overwhelming superiority of the RB19.
