F1 Miami GP 2025 – Race Results

Oscar Piastri takes dominant 2025 Miami GP victory as McLaren secure 1-2 finish

-

Oscar Piastri showed all his racecraft in Florida as the Aussie put his McLaren top of the Miami GP 2025 race results, just ahead of Lando Norris in the sister McLaren with George Russell third fastest for Mercedes as the F1 Sprint weekend came to an end.

Starting from fourth on the grid, the Australian surged through the field with measured aggression and clinical overtakes, making decisive moves on Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen to take control of the race. Once out front, Piastri expertly managed his tyres, pace and the pressure from behind to cross the line ahead of teammate Norris.

The result marked another impressive display for McLaren, who have now firmly established themselves as the benchmark in 2025. Norris recovered from a first-lap mistake after going wide during an early scrap with Verstappen, which saw him fall to sixth. However, the Brit was undeterred and picked off rivals with calm precision to climb back into podium contention.

Verstappen, who had looked like a strong contender after leading the opening laps, faded as the race unfolded. The Red Bull driver was undercut by George Russell during a well-timed virtual safety car period, one of three across the race. That proved pivotal, as Russell held off a charging Verstappen to seal third and claim another crucial haul of points for Mercedes.
