F1 Miami GP 2025 – Free Practice 1 Results

In the only practice session of the F1 Sprint weekend it was Oscar Piastri who set the early pace

-

Oscar Piastri continued his form in Florida as the Australian put his McLaren top of the Miami GP 2025 Free Practice 1 results, just ahead of Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari with Max Verstappen in the Red Bull third fastest in the first and only practice session of the F1 Sprint weekend.

Piastri’s time on the soft compound was 0.356s quicker than Ferrari’s Leclerc, while Verstappen, returning to the cockpit after missing Thursday media duties for the birth of his daughter Lily, placed third for Red Bull.

Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon impressed for Williams, finishing fourth and fifth respectively, ahead of Isack Hadjar in the lead Racing Bulls car. George Russell, who had been fastest early in the session on medium tyres, dropped to seventh after missing out on a soft-tyre lap.

The session was halted four minutes from the end after Oliver Bearman crashed his Haas at Turns 11 and 12, bringing out the red flag and denying several drivers—including Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton—a final run on soft tyres
