Max Verstappen in the Red Bull won the 2023 Miami GP

    -

Max Verstappen utilised every ounce of speed in his Red Bull to take victory in the 2023 Miami GP, despite starting ninth on the grid in the USA.

The Dutchman’s Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez, who was on pole position, could do nothing as Verstappen breezed past with nine laps to go after running an alternate strategy which gave him fresher tyres late on.

Mercedes had a much more positive race after a poor qualifying, as George Russell moved from sixth to fourth, and Lewis Hamilton came from 13th on the grid to finish sixth.

Elsewhere, Fernando Alonso brought his Aston Martin home in third, for the fourth time in the 2023 F1 season.
