McLaren have announced a special Ayrton Senna-inspired livery for the 2024 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, celebrating the legendary driver’s legacy 30 years after his passing.

The ‘McLaren SENNA’ livery features vibrant yellow, green, and blue colours reminiscent of Senna’s iconic helmet. This distinctive livery will be showcased on the MCL38 during the 2024 Monaco GP weekend from May 24-26.

Senna, widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers in F1 history, enjoyed a remarkable career with McLaren, securing 35 of his 41 Grand Prix victories and three Drivers’ Championships between 1988 and 1993.

His six wins at the Circuit de Monaco earned him the title ‘King of Monaco’ making the principality an apt venue for the tribute.

Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, expressed the team’s pride in honouring Senna‘s legacy in such a fitting venue.

Senna remains revered as Formula 1’s greatest icon and McLaren’s most decorated driver,” Brown said. “It’s an honour to race for him at his most successful circuit in his iconic colours.

“This tribute is a fitting way to remember his remarkable career and the immense impact he had on our team and the sport as a whole.”

The tribute extends beyond the cars themselves, with both McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, set to wear Senna-inspired overalls throughout the 2024 Monaco GP weekend.

In fact, the team’s entire kit will reflect the iconic colours, ensuring a comprehensive homage to Senna’s legacy in what promises to be a poignant and celebratory event, as McLaren honours the legacy of a driver who left an indelible mark on the sport.

The road car mirrors the F1 car’s livery, blending the yellow, green, and blue colours in a striking tribute to the Brazilian legend.

Bianca Senna, representing Senna Global, highlighted the significance of the tribute given the great success Senna has with McLaren during his F1 career.
