Victory at Suzuka meant Max Verstappen won the 2022 F1 Drivers' Championship

    -

The Red Bull of Max Verstappen dominated a shortened 2022 Japanese Grand Prix, finishing over 27 seconds ahead of teammate Sergio Perez, meaning the Dutchman wins the 2022 F1 Drivers’ Championship

Just three laps were completed before the red flag was brought out at the end of the race, with conditions causing Carlos Sainz and others to spin out, with Pierre Gasly coming close to colliding with a tractor on track.

The 2022 Japanese GP did get underway over two hours before the initial start, and no one could live with Verstappen as he raced off into the distance, with Charles Leclerc crossing the line second, but being given a five-second penalty after the race, dropped him to third.
