Ferrari have introduced a captivating blue livery for the 2024 Miami Grand Prix, paying homage to its historical colours Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino. This move marks a significant moment in Ferrari’s 70th anniversary celebrations in North America, reinvigorating a rich heritage of innovation and racing spirit.

The Ferrari blue livery will adorn the SF-24s, reviving shades that were once a common sight at Maranello and had been absent for about 50 years.

The introduction of the Ferrari blue livery coincides with the commencement of a pivotal partnership with HP, resulting in the team’s rebranding to Scuderia Ferrari HP.

This alliance is set to enhance Ferrari’s technological edge, supporting not only the Formula 1 outfit but also its young drivers’ program and Esports team.

The special blue livery not only highlights significant elements of Ferrari‘s past but also celebrates the legendary North American Racing Team (N.A.R.T.), featuring prominently on the weekend’s race cars.

This design choice recalls the blue and white 158 F1, which secured the world championship title for John Surtees in North America 60 years ago.

“The upcoming Miami Grand Prix will be one to remember in the history of our team, as in Florida we will be celebrating our heritage through a unique livery, rediscovering two colours that are part of our history,” Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur said in a statement.

Heritage and Innovation at the Miami GP

The 2024 Miami GP will see Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, along with the majority of the team, sporting exclusive race kits in the historical blue hues.

Reflecting on traditions from the 1950s and 1960s, these kits draw inspiration from the iconic blue worn by Ferrari greats such as Alberto Ascari and Niki Lauda.

Beyond the race track, the celebration of the Ferrari blue livery extends to the streets, where Leclerc and Sainz will pilot special editions of the Ferrari 296 GTS Assetto Fiorano.

These vehicles, featuring custom liveries designed by Ferrari’s Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni, played a prominent role in the Ferrari Cavalcade events in Tennessee and Florida.

Complementing the automotive spectacle, Ferrari has launched a series of limited edition merchandise in collaboration with its partners.

Highlighting the special blue livery, products such as Puma’s Miami Limited Edition collection and Ray-Ban Meta glasses feature designs inspired by the rediscovered shades of Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino.

This blend of historical reverence and modern innovation through the Ferrari blue livery ensures the 2024 Miami Grand Prix will not only be a race event but a celebration of Ferrari’s enduring legacy and its future in the world of Formula 1.
