Formula 1 is back in the Netherlands for the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, and it’s no surprise that Max Verstappen is the overwhelming favourite among bookmakers.
The Zandvoort circuit could be the site of another dominant performance for Red Bull, with the Orange Army cheering on their home hero.
The Dutch GP is known for its high-speed corners and challenging banking, making it a favourite among both drivers and fans.
Verstappen’s RB20 has been in impeccable form, and if it continues to do so, he should be the red-hot favourite for both pole position and victory.
The Red Bull Dominance
If the car runs smoothly, Verstappen is undoubtedly the favourite for both pole position and victory. Sergio Perez, with odds of 12/1, should be the second most likely to earn both of those results, but his inconsistent qualifying form might make things difficult.
Mercedes has been strong at Zandvoort in the past. Lewis Hamilton, with odds of 11/1, and George Russell, with odds of 25/1, both have a solid record here and could pose a threat to Verstappen’s dominance.
The Underdogs
Aston Martin and McLaren have both shown promise this season. Lando Norris, with odds of 16/1, has been particularly impressive and could be a surprise package. Oscar Piastri, the young Australian driver with odds of 33/1, is another one to watch.
Drivers to Watch at 2023 Dutch GP
- Lewis Hamilton: You might get long odds on the seven-time world champion, but he has a strong record at Zandvoort.
- Max Verstappen: The most recent winner of the Dutch GP is everyone’s first bet for victory.
- Lando Norris: McLaren will be tested with their new upgrades, but Norris is capable of special things when the car complies.
