All the new F1 driver helmet designs for Spanish GP 2024

Max Verstappen brings a new design to the 2024 Spanish GP, which will be one of the last in Barcelona before F1 moves to Madrid

-

Max Verstappen will head to the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona with an 2024 F1 Spanish GP helmet which will pay tribute to his devoted Orange Army of supporters from his home nation, the Netherlands, as he looks for his third straight in in Iberia whilst Carlos Sainz joins in with the nationalistic pride.

One of the most loyal fanbases in any sport, Formula 1 races are always donned with a sea of orange when the ‘Army comes to town, particularly in the European leg of the calendar at countries such as Spain, Austria, Belgium and Italy, as well as their home race at Zandvoort.

So, with the 2024 Spanish GP running from June 21-23, expect the grandstands to be transformed into the Dutch national colour once again as Verstappen’s compatriots bid to watch him win his third race in a row in Barcelona.

To pay homage, the reigning world champion and championship leader will be throwing his cars into the corner and slamming on the brakes at 300kph with a crash helmet soaked in a metallic, deep orange that will glimmer and shine under the summer sun.

Along with the plentiful sponsors gained from being one of the most marketable athletes in professional sports, Verstappen will add white as a secondary colour to show off the fearsome lion logo on the top of his lid as a national symbol of his father’s birthplace and his own heritage.

On the back will be his traditional MV logo with three stars above it representing his titles won in 2021, 2022 and 2023 whilst he also has the number one on the handle for the helmet, the driving number reserved for the world champion to claim if he wants it.

Helmets are a very intriguing and fun way for a driver to express their personalities so here at Total-Motorsport.com, we like to keep you up to date with all of the new designs so you know exactly who you’re seeing on track.

Any more 2024 F1 Spanish GP helmets revealed will be posted here, so be sure to check back in across the weekend!

Max Verstappen Helmet for Spanish GP 2024

In 2023, Verstappen dominated the entire show by taking pole by almost half a second before going on to lead Lewis Hamilton‘s Mercedes over the line by a whopping 24 seconds through 66 laps.

He was so dominant that his only challenge came from his race engineer, who pleaded with the Dutchman to avoid a track limits penalty as he pushed for his third career grand slam by taking pole, leading every lap and taking the fastest lap on his 61st tour of the circuit.

Will his new helmet earn him another win in Spain?

Carlos Sainz will also bring a special lid to the track located around 380 miles away from where he was born in Madrid, but it might be challenging to tell his and Verstappen‘s apart from distance as he also runs a very sunset-orange inspired helmet.

The 2024 Australian GP winner’s head protection for this weekend pays tribute to the national colours of Spain, red and yellow. They combine to spell ‘ESP’ which, of course, is the abbreviation of Spain in Spanish (Espana).

However, the 30-year-old does not forget to bay tribute to Ferrari with the logo of the legendary Italian team standing clear on the front, aligned with where the front of his brain would be.

Then comes some personal items as he adds a red chilli and his name in bold black letters with his sponsors creating the remainder of the decoration for the one-off lid for his home Grand Prix.

Carlos Sainz helmet for the 2024 Spanish GP

Will Carlos Sainz claim his maiden Spanish GP win? Red Bull are the most vulnerable they have been since the 2022 F1 season and Ferrari have managed to beat them twice so far so, buoyed by the home crowd, will El Matador charge his way to a second win of the season?

He will be hoping to be a silky smooth operator this weekend…
