F1 2026 Constructors Championship Standings

Mercedes lead the 2026 F1 Constructor Standings after the British GP, ahead of Ferrari and McLaren heading into the Belgian GP.

Victories from George Russell and five for Kimi Antonelli, as well as Lewis Hamilton‘s maiden Formula 1 win for Ferrari at the Barcelona Grand Prix, have helped Mercedes surge to the top of the standings, opening a clear gap over their closest rivals.

Ferrari remain firmly in contention thanks to consistent points finishes from Charles Leclerc and Hamilton, while the battle behind them is already forming between McLaren and Red Bull.

With the 2026 season almost at the halfway stage, every result can significantly reshape the championship picture.

Mercedes leads the F1 constructors championship after the British GP, ahead of Ferrari as the 2026 season evolves.

How F1 constructor points are awarded

In Formula 1, constructor points are the combined total scored by both drivers from each team across a race weekend. In a Grand Prix, points are awarded to the top 10 finishers on a 25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 scale.

Any sprint points earned during sprint weekends are also added to the constructor standings, which means the championship can swing quickly over the course of a season.

That is why strong double scoring finishes, like Mercedes achieved in Australia, can have such a major impact in the standings.

F1 2026 championship battle

The 2026 F1 season still shows a clear Mercedes advantage at the front of the Constructors’ Championship, but the British GP proved their grip is not as secure as it looked earlier in the year.

Mercedes remain the benchmark overall, with Kimi Antonelli and George Russell still forming the strongest driver pairing on the grid. Antonelli won the Sprint and took pole at Silverstone, but a late issue left him 16th in the Grand Prix and opened the door for their rivals to take a major points swing.

Russell limited the damage for Mercedes by finishing second after a chaotic race that included a slow puncture and a late Safety Car. It was an important result for the team, but Silverstone still felt like a missed opportunity after Antonelli had looked capable of fighting for victory before his race unravelled.

Ferrari were the big winners. Charles Leclerc claimed his first victory of the season and Lewis Hamilton completed the podium, giving the Scuderia a major boost in the Constructors’ battle. After Hamilton’s Barcelona win earlier in the year, Ferrari now have two Grand Prix victories in 2026 and look like the clearest threat to Mercedes.

McLaren remain third, but the British GP again showed the scale of their challenge. Lando Norris finished fourth after another strong drive, while Oscar Piastri missed out on points after early damage. The reigning Constructors’ Champions remain dangerous, but they still lack the consistent pace needed to fight Mercedes and Ferrari every weekend.

Behind the leading three, Red Bull Racing endured another uneven weekend. Isack Hadjar impressed with fifth, but Max Verstappen retired late after spinning off at Stowe, continuing a frustrating run for a team still searching for consistency.

The midfield picture remains tight, with Racing Bulls enjoying a strong Silverstone as Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad finished sixth and seventh. Audi and Alpine also scored through Gabriel Bortoleto, Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly, while Haas, Williams, Cadillac and Aston Martin left empty-handed.

With the British GP complete, Mercedes still have the strongest platform, but Ferrari have momentum after Leclerc’s win and another double podium. McLaren need upgrades quickly, Red Bull remain unpredictable, and the Constructors’ fight now looks more open than it did before Silverstone.
