Following the conclusion of a story that has rippled through the Formula 1 community, Christian Horner, team principal of Red Bull, has publicly addressed the conclusion of an investigation into allegations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ made against him.

This comes after Red Bull‘s Austrian parent company, Red Bull GmbH, undertook a comprehensive review of claims brought forward by a female colleague. Despite the gravity of the accusations, the incident has now been officially dismissed, allowing Horner to turn his attention back to the fiercely competitive world of Formula 1.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Horner expressed relief at the investigation’s conclusion, emphasising his focus on the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix and the defense of Red Bull‘s titles.

“I’m just pleased that the process is over,” Horner told Sky Sports News.

“Obviously, I can’t comment about it, but we are here very much to focus now on the Grand Prix and the season ahead and trying to defend both of our titles.”

When pressed on the matter being definitively over, Horner responded: “Well, I can’t give you any further comment, but the process has been conducted and concluded.”

Sky Sports News reporter Craig Slater then asked is there were any regrets about the investigation becoming public knowledge, and Horner was forthright in his response.

“Again, I’m not going to be able to give you I’m afraid any further comments on it,” Horner said, “but I’m pleased to be here in Bahrain and then with the team focused on the season ahead.

And finally when asked if the team is unified, Horner stated: “Within the team it has never been stronger.”

At 50 years old, Horner has been a pivotal figure in Red Bull’s success, leading the team since its inception in 2005 to an impressive tally of seven drivers’ titles and six constructors’ championships over 19 seasons.

His leadership has been instrumental in establishing Red Bull as a dominant force in the sport. However, the recent allegations had cast a shadow over his and the team’s preparations for the 2024 season, particularly as they unfolded in the lead-up to the highly anticipated car launch and pre-season testing in Bahrain.

Red Bull’s statement was clear

Red Bull GmbH‘s statement shed light on the investigation’s thoroughness, asserting that the grievance had been dismissed. While the specifics of the investigation remain confidential to protect the privacy of all parties involved, the company reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest workplace standards.

“The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed,” Red Bull said in a statement.

“The complainant has a right of appeal. Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial.

“The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned. Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards.”

Horner‘s tenure at Red Bull has been marked by strategic brilliance and a keen eye for talent, contributing significantly to the team’s storied success in Formula 1.

His approach to leadership and team management has often been lauded, making the allegations against him all the more shocking to the racing community. However, with the investigation now behind him, Horner’s focus is firmly on the future, aiming to add to Red Bull‘s legacy of success in the sport.
