Max Verstappen held on to take a magnificent win for Red Bull in Canada

    -

Despite coming under plenty of pressure from Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari, Max Verstappen held firm and took the chequered flag at the 2022 Canadian Grand Prix

Two early virtual safety cars allowed, first Verstappen, then Sainz to get pit stops in, though the Ferrari driver had much fresher tyres as he stopped second.

That fight continued with Verstappen having to stop again and as he was catching Sainz, Yuki Tsunoda crashed and brought out a full safety car allowing Ferrari to get a free pit stop for the Spaniard.

And though he had fresher tyres for the final part of the race, and the benefit of DRS, Sainz was unable to get past Verstappen
