Max Verstappen secured pole position for the Brazilian GP in a dramatic end to qualifying, as the Dutchman took his opportunity to get out ahead of the coming rain.
The Red Bull driver was three tenths faster than Charles Leclerc in second, with the drivers only having one shot at a flying lap in Q3 before a storm swept across Interlagos, effectively ending the session – before the red flags came out with four minutes remaining.
The early rain was good news for Aston Martin, with Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso in third and fourth, ahead of the Mercedes pair of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
