A mesmerising race long battle in Baku was eventually won by Oscar Piastri who took the chequered flag and to take victory ahead of Charles Leclerc in the 2024 Azerbaijan GP results.
In the final few laps with Charles Leclerc, Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz fighting for second place, Sainz jumped Perez into Turn 1 then out of Turn 2, the Ferrari and Red Bull collided meaning the race ended under the Virtual Safety Car.
George Russell benefited from that collision and took the final podium position. Lando Norris, who started in 15th position, brilliantly recovered to take P4, jumping title-rival Max Verstappen in the process.
Fernando Alonso finished sixth in a quiet race for Aston Martin, while Williams drivers Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto secured valuable points in seventh and eighth. Lewis Hamilton, after starting from the back of the grid due to engine penalties, recovered to ninth, with Haas stand-in Ollie Bearman rounding out the top 10.
