Austrian GP 2023 Sprint Weekend Schedule


Formula 1 is back with the second F1 Sprint weekend of the season at the 2023 Austrian Grand Prix, make sure you know all of the F1 session times for the action at the Red Bull Ring.

The Red Bull Ring returned to the F1 calendar since 2014 and is the shortest lap of the year in terms of lap time.

The 2023 Austrian GP will take place on the weekend of June 30 to July 2 and will be a 71 lap race. 

Red Bull have dominated the 2023 F1 season so far, winning every race and took their 100th in the sport as Max Verstappen took victory in Canada.

Their closest challenger has been Fernando Alonso in the Aston Martin, but Mercedes have been making inroads as Lewis Hamilton made it back-to-back podiums for the first time in 2023 with third place in Montreal.

When is the 2023 Austrian GP?

The 2023 Austrian GP will take place at the Red Bull Ring, but there will be a slight change to the normal schedule as it’s a sprint weekend.

Friday will see qualifying for the main race scheduled for 16:00 UK time (17:00 local) and the race at 14:00 UK time (15:00 local) on Sunday. 

Saturday will see another qualifying session, known as the sprint shootout, which will set the grid for the sprint race later in the day, which is at 15:30 UK time (16:30 local).

Where can I watch the 2023 Austrian GP?

For viewers in the UK, the 2023 Austrian GP practice session, qualifying, sprint qualifying, the sprint race and the main Grand Prix will be shown live on Sky Sports F1. Meanwhile, if you are in the USA every session will be shown across ESPN

F1 fans in Australia will be able to catch all the action on Fox Sports, while those in Canada can watch on TSN
