With F1 25 launching on May 30, EA Sports has unveiled the official F1 25 driver ratings for this season’s Formula 1 video game, and unsurprisingly, Max Verstappen sits at the top of the list. The four-time world champion begins the game with a formidable 95 overall rating, built on elite Racecraft (96) and Pace (96), placing him ahead of an increasingly competitive pack.
The ratings, which are compiled by EA Sports and Codemasters using a mix of historic data, expert input, and recent performance, affect how AI-controlled drivers behave in-game. These numbers will also play a critical role in My Team mode, where players build their own F1 outfit and select drivers based on attributes like Experience (EXP), Racecraft (RAC), Awareness (AWA) and Pace (PAC).
Carlos Sainz, now racing for Williams, emerges as one of the surprise top-tier drivers, tied for second-best with a 90 OVR and boasting a grid-high 96 Racecraft. That edges out the likes of George Russell and Charles Leclerc, who both also sit on 90 OVR but with different strengths.
Lando Norris joins Leclerc on 91 OVR, showcasing his pace (94) as McLaren’s charge continues both in real-world standings and virtually. Notably, Oscar Piastri, the current real-life championship leader, finds himself with a relatively modest 87 OVR — an outcome shaped heavily by his low Experience score (72), reflecting the game’s method of weighing historical race participation.

Rookies undercut by experience stat as Bearman, Antonelli trail
As is tradition, rookies are dealt a tough hand due to their limited time in F1. Oliver Bearman, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, and Gabriel Bortoleto all hover between 72 and 74 OVR, while Isack Hadjar, despite some impressive results with Racing Bulls this season, has the lowest rating at 68 OVR. EA’s formula places heavy emphasis on Experience, meaning even strong results can’t fully boost newcomers’ scores.

Among the more experienced names, Lewis Hamilton starts the season with an 89 OVR, down from earlier iterations but still comfortably within the top 10. His switch to Ferrari and a recent Sprint victory in China are factored into his consistently strong stats across all categories.
The driver ratings are expected to evolve as the 2025 season progresses, with EA Sports planning regular updates based on real-world performances — potentially good news for rising stars like Piastri and Hadjar, who may soon see their digital stats catch up to their real-life impact.
There is still no official confirmation on whether Franco Colapinto will be added or replace Jack Doohan in the Alpine roster at launch, following their recent mid-season swap. EA has yet to clarify how the roster changes will be reflected in the final build.
For now, Verstappen’s dominance extends beyond the racetrack — and into the virtual world.
