Oscar Piastri was once again the class of the field to top the Miami GP Driver Ratings 2025, taking victory in Florida and extending his lead in the championship. The Australian’s fourth victory of the season not only underlined his title credentials, but also exposed Red Bull’s continued struggles with race pace, as Max Verstappen could only manage fourth from pole position.
The race was defined by decisive overtakes, strategic calls under Virtual Safety Car conditions, and tense in-team battles — most notably at Ferrari, where Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc spent much of the afternoon squabbling over track position. While George Russell picked up another podium for Mercedes, it was Alex Albon who arguably delivered the drive of the day, finishing a stunning fifth for Williams.
With four different teams represented in the top six and several standout drives through the midfield, the 2025 Miami Grand Prix produced plenty of performances worth highlighting.

Oscar Piastri – 8.5
A clinical, confident drive from the championship leader. He executed a clean pass on Verstappen, managed his pace under pressure from Norris, and never looked vulnerable after taking the lead. A statement win to stretch his championship lead.

Lando Norris – 7.5
Was unlucky at the start after being forced wide by Verstappen, dropping to P6. Fought back well with solid overtakes, particularly on Antonelli and Verstappen, but never quite had the edge on Piastri in the Grand Prix. His Sprint win was impressive, but this rating reflects Sunday.

George Russell – 8
Made the most of the VSC to leapfrog Verstappen and never looked back. Wasn’t quite on the pace of the McLarens, but delivered a measured drive to secure another podium finish for Mercedes.
Max Verstappen – 8
Another tough Sunday. While pole position was earned in style, he was ultimately no match for McLaren’s pace. Battled hard against both cars but struggled with tyre wear. Fourth place was all he could salvage.
Alexander Albon – 9
Arguably the drive of the day. Brilliant tyre management and consistently quick lap times allowed Albon to finish best of the rest behind the top four. An excellent return to form in what is still a midfield car.
Kimi Antonelli – 8
Showed real maturity in battle and held his own early on. Strategy didn’t quite go his way, but his pace and wheel-to-wheel confidence were impressive again for a rookie.

Charles Leclerc – 7
Steady but unspectacular. Spent much of the race locked in internal Ferrari politics with Hamilton, and although he held position late on, he never had the pace to move forward.
Lewis Hamilton – 7
Frustrated over team orders and radio indecision, but still managed a solid recovery from 12th on the grid to eighth. Couldn’t catch Antonelli, but did outpace Leclerc before the team reshuffle.
Carlos Sainz – 8
Aggressive and opportunistic throughout. Took the fight to his former team and was involved in multiple key moments. A late-race dive on Hamilton didn’t stick, but it showed intent.
Yuki Tsunoda – 6
Picked up the final point but received a penalty for speeding in the pits. Solid but not spectacular, with limited forward momentum in the second half of the race.

Isack Hadjar – 7
Just outside the points again, but looked sharp and unfazed during battles. Continues to impress in his rookie season with Racing Bulls.
Esteban Ocon – 7
Another tidy performance in the Haas. Faded slightly in the second stint but never put a wheel wrong and finished as high as could be expected.
Pierre Gasly – 7
Did well to climb up to P13 after a pit lane start. Drove a clean race, but the car’s pace simply wasn’t there for points.
Nico Hulkenberg – 6.5
P14 was a fair reflection of Sauber’s pace on the day. Got the most out of a difficult package but didn’t make waves.
Fernando Alonso – 5
A spin mid-race and no pace to speak of. It’s been a rough stretch for Aston Martin, and Alonso looks increasingly frustrated behind the wheel.

Lance Stroll – 6
Finished where he started and was never a factor. Kept it clean but didn’t offer anything notable in performance or strategy.
Liam Lawson – 4
Clashed with Doohan on Lap 1 and never recovered. Struggled for pace and was the last classified finisher before retiring.
Gabriel Bortoleto – 6.5
Another weekend of promise undone by mechanical issues. Looked on for a solid midfield result before stopping out on track.
Ollie Bearman – 7
Another solid if unspectacular showing. Ran comfortably until reliability struck again. Unlucky not to finish higher.
Jack Doohan – 6.5
Out early due to first-lap damage, but had shown reasonable pace beforehand. Still hasn’t had a trouble-free Sunday in 2025.
