The 2025 Formula 1 season kicked off with a historic event at London’s O2 Arena, where all 10 teams unveiled their liveries for the upcoming campaign, so we decided the best thing to do was an F1 2025 livery ranking to decide which is best.
The F1 75 event was packed with excitement, as teams showcased their designs alongside live performances and entertainment. While some liveries delivered fresh new looks, others stuck to tradition – but which one stood out the most?
With opinions bound to vary, ranking liveries is always a subjective exercise. Some fans prefer bold innovation, while others appreciate classic color schemes that stand the test of time.
Here, we break down all 10 liveries, evaluating them based on creativity, improvements from last season, and overall impact.
The Complete F1 2025 Livery Ranking
The 2025 liveries showcase a mix of innovation and tradition. While some teams played it safe, others took bold steps to refresh their designs
10. Aston Martin – A Step Backward
Aston Martin’s signature British Racing Green is always a crowd-pleaser, but this year’s AMR25 design seems like a downgrade. The addition of black sidepods feels out of place, disrupting what was once a sleek, cohesive look. There’s speculation that the black sections may be left as raw carbon for weight-saving purposes, but aesthetically, it’s not the strongest offering.

9. Williams – Overly Simplistic
Williams has gone for an all-blue livery, but this time, it lacks the depth and detail of previous designs. The gradient from dark to medium blue is a safe choice, but it feels uninspired compared to past efforts. The iconic Duracell battery engine cover remains, though its novelty is starting to fade.

8. Red Bull – Same as Always
Once again, Red Bull has chosen familiarity over change. Their livery remains nearly identical to past designs, save for a minor tweak to the rear wing sponsor. While the classic Red Bull colors are iconic, some fans are hoping for a bit more creativity.

7. Sauber – A Slight Improvement
Sauber’s 2024 livery felt uninspired, with weight-saving carbon dominating the design. Thankfully, they’ve taken cues from their Las Vegas one-off livery and incorporated more neon green into the 2025 version. If the gradient from green to black is executed well in real life, this livery could turn heads.

6. McLaren – More of the Same
McLaren has stuck to what worked in 2024, keeping its papaya and black combination largely unchanged. While continuity is understandable after a strong season, fans hoping for a bold redesign will be disappointed. There’s nothing wrong with the MCL39’s look—it’s just not particularly exciting.

5. Haas – A More Distinctive Effort
Haas has refined its color scheme while maintaining the familiar white, black, and red. The design feels more structured and balanced compared to previous years, making the VF-25 one of their better-looking cars in recent memory.

4. Ferrari – Classic, With a Twist
Ferrari’s SF-25 is, of course, red—but this year’s hue is richer and darker, reminiscent of their 2022 shade. The addition of white for sponsor placement brings back memories of the Schumacher era, though some fans may miss the yellow accents from last year. Overall, it’s a solid look that pays homage to Ferrari’s history while embracing modern branding.

3. Alpine – A Dramatic Improvement
Alpine has finally moved away from last year’s excessive use of bare carbon and embraced a bold, vibrant color scheme. Their 2025 livery brings back the full metallic blue with pink accents, similar to classic Brabham designs. The reintroduction of Eni branding also adds a nostalgic touch. Overall, it’s a standout design that gives Alpine a strong visual identity.

2. Mercedes – A Polished Update
Mercedes has made subtle yet effective refinements to its livery. The increased use of silver, particularly on the engine cover, enhances the W16’s aesthetic. The Petronas teal remains a striking highlight, and the removal of the INEOS red gives the car a cleaner, more streamlined look.

1. Racing Bulls – A Striking Transformation
The biggest surprise of the 2025 grid comes from Racing Bulls (formerly AlphaTauri). Their new white-dominated design, with classic Red Bull branding elements, is a refreshing change. Inspired by Red Bull’s 2020 Turkey GP one-off livery, it combines a clean aesthetic with bold sponsor placements. The yellow nose cap and strategic use of blue create a balanced, dynamic look.

A Diverse Grid of Liveries
Racing Bulls, Alpine, and Mercedes stand out for their well-executed updates, while Red Bull and Aston Martin could have been more adventurous.
