The 2025 Hungarian GP Free Practice 3 Results saw Oscar Piastri flip the McLaren momentum by topping the timesheets for the first time at the Hungaroring, leading another dominant Papaya one-two from Lando Norris. Charles Leclerc was again third for Ferrari, just ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton.
After Norris set the early pace on Friday, the Australian responded when it mattered, stringing together a clean, aggressive lap on soft tyres in FP3. His effort sent a ripple through the pit lane, showing that he will not cede momentum in McLaren’s ongoing intra-team championship fight.

Tight at the top as Ferrari and Mercedes search for answers
Lewis Hamilton put his Ferrari into fourth, narrowly ahead of rookie sensation Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who broke into the top five with a late flyer for Mercedes. Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll slotted both Aston Martins into the top seven, underlining the team’s quiet improvement at twisty circuits, while George Russell was left to rue lost time in sector two and three as he finished eighth.

Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hulkenberg ensured both Sauber and Haas remained in the mix, rounding out the top 10. Meanwhile, it was another worrying session for Red Bull. Verstappen’s early effort was promising, but the Dutchman finished a lowly 12th after struggling to extract a balanced lap from the car – a sign the team has yet to solve its set-up headaches at the Hungaroring.
Further down, Oliver Bearman missed out on the top 10 in 11th, while Colapinto’s early lap set the tone for a difficult session for Alpine.
