George Russell was quickest and put his Mercedes top of the 2025 Canadian GP race results, claiming victory behind the Safety Car ahead of Max Verstappen in the Red Bull, with Kimi Antonelli in the sister Mercedes third in Montreal.
Drama unfolded behind him as McLaren’s Lando Norris collided with teammate and championship leader Oscar Piastri just four laps from the end. The collision between the McLaren drivers brought a chaotic end to the race, triggering a Safety Car that neutralised the closing stages.
Piastri managed to continue and finished fourth, salvaging valuable points for McLaren and extending his lead in the drivers’ championship.
