F1 2024 Saudi Arabian GP Starting Grid – Final Grid Positions

Max Verstappen was the class of the field in qualifying for the 2024 Saudi Arabian GP and starts on pole position

Max Verstappen secured his second pole position of the 2024 season at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, showcasing his dominance on the Jeddah track with a leading time of 1m 27.472s. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc trailed by 0.3 seconds, securing the second spot on the grid.

Oliver Bearman, stepping in for Carlos Sainz at Ferrari, made an impressive Formula 1 debut, qualifying 11th, a commendable achievement given his last-minute call-up. Sergio Perez, the previous year’s race winner, claimed the third spot but failed to improve his time on his second attempt.

Fernando Alonso used a tow from Lewis Hamilton to secure the fourth place, while Oscar Piastri outperformed McLaren teammate Lando Norris, placing them on the third row. The Mercedes duo rounded off the top eight, facing stiff competition from the front runners.

Alpine’s challenging season was highlighted as both of their cars were eliminated in Q1, mirroring Sauber’s struggle, though Sauber made a significant effort to repair Zhou Guanyu’s car after a practice crash, resulting in a back-of-the-grid start. Nico Hulkenberg’s qualifying was cut short due to a power issue, relegating him to a 15th-place start.
