F1 2024 Monaco GP celebrities: Emily Ratajkowski and Kylian Mbappe among the stars attending race

Kylian Mbappe, Kris Jenner and Virgil Van Djik are just some of the names hanging around Monte Carlo for the 2024 Monaco GP.

The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the most glamorous occasions in all of sports as celebrities and influencers descend on the Principality for their five minutes of sun, and 2024 promises to be no different with major stars such as Kylian Mbappe, Emily Ratajkowski and some of Hollywood’s biggest acting names are there for the Formula 1 race.

Footballers, actors, models, rappers and DJs… There’s really no end to the exhausting list of famous people drawn in to watch Charles Leclerc start from pole position at his home circuit in Monte Carlo, meaning Sky Sports F1’s Martin Brundle will have his work cut out trying to talk to all of them on his popular grid walk.

But with 114 million Instagram followers, perhaps there will be no bigger name there than Kylian Mbappe. The French footballer is one of just two players to score a hattrick in the final of the FIFA World Cup, the biggest sports event on Earth, which he won in 2018.

With the news still fresh that he’s quitting Paris Saint Germain, destined for Real Madrid, he is set to dominate the offseason talk in the football world so could he leak a few exclusives at the Circuit de Monaco to please the Madridistas early?

Also there too is the ever-gorgeous Emily Ratajkowski. As one of the most premier models in the world, the 32-year-old American, with Polish-Israeli roots, boasts a mega 30 million followers on Instagram.

The Californian, who recently divorced her husband, has been modelling since she was 14 and she’s gone on to produce an extraordinary career in the field that has seen her appear in Sports Illustrated issues, at New York and Milan’s Fashion Weeks and on the cover of Vogue too.

But not settling for just her fame, she’s also a strong advocate for women’s health and is an outspoken feminist focusing mainly on sexual liberation for women, producing My Body, which went on to become a New York Times bestseller. Will she have any thoughts on F1 Academy?

Adding to this list of just some of the stellar names at the 2024 Monaco GP is Virgil Van Djik. The Liverpool captain and the Dutch defender will no doubt be roaring on Max Verstappen from sixth place in what he hopes will serve as a useful distraction from the emotional departure of his manager, Jurgen Klopp, at the end of the Premier League season.

Van Djik is regarded as one of the best defenders in the world and of all-time, thanks to his intelligent reading of the game, leadership skills, formidable strength and electric pace, which has materialised in the form of a UEFA Champions League winners medal too.

Can he lend some of that speed to Verstappen, as the F1 world champion bids to recover from a very tough weekend so far?

Mbappe’s spot as the most famous person at the event is not without a challenge though. Also there is Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the globally-known Kardashian-Jenner family that includes Kim, Kylie and Kendall too.

Recently diagnosed with cancer, she’s produced a monumental effort to fly around the planet to land in the microstate near France so will Lewis Hamilton or George Russell surprise her with a win as she’s a guest of the Mercedes garage?

Continuing the theme of box office names is Cillian Murphy. Known for his relentless collaborations with Christopher Nolan, the Oppenheimer star detonated his career to a new level of stardom last summer by staring as the creator of the atomic bomb.

The Irish actor also stole the British television scene for years in his role as Tommy Shelby in The Peaky Blinders, a show set around a Birmingham-based gang alongside other huge names such as Tom Hardy, Sam Neill and Anya Taylor-Joy, the latter is also at the Monaco GP too.

Murphy won his first Academy Award in March 2024, and will he see another golden performance from McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, who starts from second and chases his first ever Grand Prix win?
