F1 2024 Miami GP celebrities: Which stars are attending the race?

In the first of three American races on the 2024 calendar, stars from Hollywood and beyond are heading to Miami for Sunday's Miami GP

Formula 1 is no longer just about racing now that motorsport’s crown jewel is well entrenched into the mainstream, with A-list celebrities now flocking to races more often than the red carpet in modern times – and the 2024 Miami Grand Prix is no different.

Since F1 underwent some modernisation after Liberty Media’s acquisition, the rise of Drive to Survive has seen interest shoot through the roof, and it is now one of the hottest places to be. With temperatures reaching 30C in the Florida city, that could be taken quite literally.

It remains to be seen which stars will be on the track when Martin Brundle pulls out the microphone on the famous gridwalk, but there should be plenty of famous faces to speak to.

Ed Sheeran, the multi-award winning singer-songwriter, was booked to perform at the Hard Rock Beach Club on Saturday for fans. The Englishman was there to perform some of his hit singles, which included ‘Shape of You’ and ‘Bad Habits’, having been taken around the track in a Mercedes AMG GTR by George Russell.

Sheeran, who revealed he became a fan of the sport thanks to the Netflix smash hit documentary series, was seen with Red Bull boss Christian Horner on Saturday before the F1 Sprint.

He was joined on Saturday by another popstar, Camila Cabello, who was spotted sitting in the Ferrari garage as she met Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, wearing a stylish light blue jacket like the Scuderia pair.

F1 have also announced one of Lewis Hamilton’s close friends, Shakira, will be attending Sunday’s race, while tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams have been put on the guestlist too.

Kendall Jenner made two appearances on May 3 and even squeezed in an outfit change, getting rid of her plaid dress for a Miami-esque linen shirt and white trouser ensemble. The supermodel was seen in conversation with F1 Academy director Susie Wolff and Mick Schumacher, using her connections to get a tour of the Mercedes garage.

NFL stars in attendance

Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback with three Super Bowl rings, attended the race along with his wife, Brittany. and checked in on the Alpine garage, having invested as part of Ryan Reynolds’ consortium. Wherever Mahomes goes, his tight end Travis Kelce isn’t far away and the 34-year-old has flown in for the action, but will his girlfriend Taylor Swift make a surprise appearance?

Mahomes wasn’t the only prestigious NFL quarterback to make an appearance either, as Tom Brady popped into the Williams camp for a chat with team principal James Vowles. Free agent Odell Beckham Jr made his appearance too, while NBA star Jimmy Poole made it clear he was firmly behind the McLaren of Lando Norris after they struck up an unlikely friendship recently.

Sports fans in the UK will also recognise a number of high-profile names, such as Inter Miami footballers Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busuqets, ex-France footballer Zinedine Zidane, golfers Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas, and US skier Lindsey Vonn.

Miami was a hotbed for American celebrities, with fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger also making an appearance. ‘Top Gun’ actors Danny Ramirez and Greg Tarzan Davis both joined Heineken Silver for the race weekend.

‘True Detective’ star Alexandra Daddario was spotted hanging around Red Bull garage, which may cause a stir with Haas fans after she rode along with the American team for the 2022 United States GP.
