F1 2024 Canadian GP – Qualifying Results

George Russell was fastest Qualifying for the 2024 Canadian GP, setting the same time as Max Verstappe, but the Mercedes man will start the race from pole position as he set the time first

George Russell was quickest in Qualifying for the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix, setting exactly the same time of 1:12.000 as Max Verstappen in the Red Bull, but the Mercedes man gets pole position as he set the time first.

Verstappen had an indifferent session in Montreal until that last lap to put him on the front row. Just behind the Red Bull are the McLaren drivers of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

A shocking performance from Ferrari saw both drivers eliminated in Q2. Charles Leclerc could only manage 11th place with Carlos Sainz just behind in 12th. That allowed both RBs and both Aston Martin cars into the top 10 shootout.

It was another disastrous session for Sergio Perez, who, off the back of signing a new deal with Red Bull, found himself eliminated in Q1 for the second consecutive weekend. Both Sauber cars joined the Mexican, as did Nico Hulkenberg of Haas, and the two Alpine drivers – Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon.
