McLaren take centre stage in FP2
Norris demonstrated remarkable speed to top the timesheets in the second practice session for the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix, finishing 0.2 seconds faster than his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, with championship leader Max Verstappen in third place.
Despite forecasts predicting rain, teams capitalized on the dry conditions at Spa-Francorchamps to focus on qualifying and race preparations.
Verstappen, facing a 10-place grid penalty for Sunday’s race due to fitting a fifth internal combustion engine, maintained his strong form from FP1, initially setting the pace on medium tires.
When teams switched to soft Pirelli tires for qualifying simulations, McLaren took center stage. Piastri briefly held the top spot despite a minor mishap at Turn 7 that likely cost him a few tenths.

RB faced difficulties, with Daniel Ricciardo finishing 14th and teammate Yuki Tsunoda, who will start at the back due to multiple engine component changes, in 20th. Pierre Gasly finished 15th, ahead of Nico Hulkenberg and the Williams duo of Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant.
