Max Verstappen redeemed missing out on pole position for the 2023 United States GP after he took top spot for the Sprint Shootout, edging out Charles Leclerc by 0.055 seconds.
Verstappen had his final lap time deleted in qualifying for Sunday’s race, but the positions were reversed for the Sprint Race as the Ferrari was just unable to stop the Dutchman.
Lewis Hamilton managed third for Mercedes, just ahead of the McLaren of Lando Norris, with Oscar Piastri improving significantly from the grand prix qualifying in fifth.
