Red Bull driver Max Verstappen capped off a dream weekend where he became a three-time world champion with victory in Sunday’s 2023 Qatar Grand Prix.
Oscar Piastri ran Verstappen close and secured his best finish in Formula 1 with second over Lando Norris, who just held off the hard-charging George Russell for the final spot on the rostrum.
Charles Leclerc drove a spirited race to finish fifth ahead of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon. Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu scored some well-earned points for Alfa Romeo with eighth and ninth.
Singapore GP winner Carlos Sainz failed to start the race after a fuel system issue left him stranded in the garage.
Lewis Hamilton’s race ended at Turn 1 after making contact with Russell, whilst Logan Sargeant retired because of illness.
