F1 2023 Qatar GP – Fastest Lap

Max Verstappen topped off his championship winning weekend with a win in Qatar.

Max Verstappen overcame the heat and tyre issues to secure victory in the Qatar Grand Prix, his 14th of 2023.

Verstappen dominated proceedings in Qatar on a weekend where he became only the fifth driver to secure his third consecutive world championship, getting the extra point for setting the fastest lap of 1:24.319 during the race.

Oscar Piastri completed another strong weekend, winning the Sprint race and securing an excellent second place ahead of McLaren teammate Lando Norris.

George Russell came home fourth after making contact with teammate Lewis Hamilton at the start of the race, with Charles Leclerc salving some reward for Ferrari with fifth.

Carlos Sainz’s race ended before the start because of a fuel system issue with Hamilton and Logan Sargeant the only two drivers not to make it to the chequered flag.
