Max Verstappen came through from third on the grid to take another Formula 1 victory as he swept past two Ferraris at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez to win the 2023 Mexico City Grand Prix.
The red flag was brought out just after the halfway point in the race, and on the restart Lewis Hamilton bolted on a set of medium tyres, jumping Charles Leclerc‘s Ferarri who was on hards and finished second for Mercedes.
Kevin Magnussen brought out the red flag when he careered into the barrier after suspension failed on his car.
Meanwhile, hometown hero Sergio Perez‘s race never even lasted one corner as he collided with Leclerc at Turn 1 on Lap 1, resulting in too much damage to his Red Bull and subsequent retirement.
